October – Black History Month
October – Black History Month
#BlackHistoryMonth takes
place during October every year celebrating the heritage and culture of black
people, and their contribution to society.
Did you know that for almost
2 years, Elsevier has been conducting a project called EMPOWER which aims to
make healthcare truly inclusive by partnering with hospitals and highlighting
inclusive content? As an example, we can mention Gail Model for 5 Year Risk
of Breast Cancer in Black Women. You can check the calculator here https://www.clinicalkey.com/#!/tools/calculators/calculator/77-s2.0-169
or join EMPOWER network by writing us to healthcare.empower@elsevier.com

World Thrombosis Day 2022
World Thrombosis Day
13th October 2022
Venous
thromboembolism (VTE) is a condition in which a blood clot forms most often in
the deep veins of the leg, groin or arm (deep vein thrombosis) and travels in
the circulation, lodging in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). Together, DVT and
PE are known as VTE - a dangerous, potentially deadly medical condition.
