Christmas Opening Arrangements 2024

The Health Library at County will remain open to users over the Christmas and New Year period. Access will be via swipe card as the PGMC building is closed. The library will be unstaffed between Tuesday 24th December until Thursday 2nd January 2025.

* Staff will be available for enquiries Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st of December.

Out of hours access arrangements for evenings and weekends continue as normal (please contact the library if you would like out of hours access)

Health Library at County Library Christmas Opening

We are pleased to announce that the Health Library at County is now open again following phase 1 of our refurbishment. Staff will be on hand to help until 4.30pm on Thursday 23rd December. After that the library will be self-service over Christmas for those with 24/7 access with swipecard at the side entrance. Normal service will resume on Tuesday 4th January when the PGMC will also reopen.

May Bank Holiday

Please note that the library will be self-service only on Monday for those with out of hours access due to the Bank Holiday. Staff will be available on site or contactable via the library email (library@uhnm.nhs.uk) Tues-Fri. You are advised to contact the library in advance to ensure someone is available to help you if you have an enquiry and are making a specific journey.

The Health Library at County provides 24/7 access to members who have requested extended access otherwise the library can be accessed during PGMC opening hours.

Staffed hours next week

The library remains open through lockdown although as mentioned previously staffed hours are subject to change. We continue to work our normal hours off-site however and can be reached by email at library@uhnm.nhs.uk between 8.30 and 4pm Monday to Friday.

We are staffed until 4pm each day next week but start times in the library vary between 8.30 and 9.30 am. On site hours for the next week are as follows:

Wishing everyone all the best for 2021. The library remains open around the clock to users, although you will need to have applied for out of hours access and your membership be up to date in order to access the building after 5pm which is via swipe card. Follow our social media accounts to get notifications of changes to staffed hours during lockdown. Tomorrow and Friday (7th&8th) staff will be available from 0930-1600 and next week from 0900-1600 from Monday-Wednesday. We will up date you as to arrangements for the end of next week when staffing has been confirmed.

The library will be unstaffed however from 2.30 pm on 23rd December until 08.30 am on Monday 4th January. Out of hours access arrangements for evenings and weekends continue as normal (please contact the library if you would like out of hours access). If you have any queries during this time we will be monitoring the mailbox library@uhnm.nhs.uk intermittently.

Library Opening Hours

The library is accessible 24/7 to members who apply for extended hours access. Otherwise staff can access the library during PGMC opening hours Monday-Friday excluding Bank Holidays.

Library staff are increasingly working on an outreach basis and are able to come to visit/assist you and your team in your workplace if desired, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The physical library space in the chapel building is designed so that you can use it on a self-service basis but library staff are available should you need help either online or in person, Mon-Fri. If you are making a special journey to the library and know you will need help or advice it is recommended to contact us in advance to ensure staff are on hand. We welcome your enquiries.
