Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

March 2025

According to the charity, Ovarian Cancer Action, approximately 7,500 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK each year, with only 3 in 10 women living beyond 10 years after diagnosis.  In light of this, the charity launched Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place in March each year.  The campaign aims to raise awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms and statistics.

Cervical Cancer Prevention Week

Cervical Cancer Prevention Week

22nd to 28th January 2024

According to Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, every day in the UK nine women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and two lose their lives to it.  Nearly all cases are caused by an infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV). There are tools available to help prevent cervical cancer, such as cervical screening and the HPV vaccination.  However – there is still more to be done - which is why Jo’s Trust continue with their annual campaign, Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, in order to raise awareness of these tools and to tackle inequalities in cancer prevention.
