Electronic Resources

 

The Health Libraries provide you with access to a wide range of resources to help you to find the information you need, including databases, clinical decision-making tools, drugs reference tools, exam support, guidelines and procedures, patient information, topic summaries and more.

All the resources are listed on the NHS Resources page on the website for the Health Library (CEC, Royal Stoke):

It is recommended that you also sign up for an OpenAthens password which is needed to access many of the resources in full.

Contact the Health Library at County if you need help using any of the resources.

Clinical decision support tools

 Staff at UHNM have access to clinical decision support tools  Dynamed and BMJ Best Practice. You can set up accounts to either or both of these resources using your OpenAthens username and password.

Dynamed

DynaMed, a clinical evidence-based summary service has been purchased by UHNM Health Libraries to support your clinical practice.

BMJ Best Practice

How to Access

1. Go to https://bestpractice.bmj.com/
2. Enter your OpenAthens username and password and click ‘Sign in’
3. If you are a new user, you will need to now register for a BMJ Best Practice personal account. If prompted for an institution enter "NHS in England". Use your personal account to download the app for access anywhere, anytime, even offline.
