Awareness Week 2023

to 30th April 2023
According to the Multiple Sclerosis Trust, there are
an estimated 130,000 people in the UK currently diagnosed with Multiple
sclerosis (MS). As a disease of the central nervous system the condition causes
a wide variety of symptoms which affect the day-to-day lives of those living
with the illness; often having a detrimental affect on a person’s mental health
and general wellbeing. A recent survey carried out by the MS Trust found that
of over 2,000 people living with MS, 56% felt that their condition impacted
their mental health.
MS Awareness Week 2023 runs from 24th to 30th
April. This year, the two main MS charities in the UK, the MS Trust and the MS
Society, have teamed up with five other MS charities to focus on raising
awareness of the impact MS has on mental and emotional wellbeing.
